ONE DAY ACTIVITY
Nisyros, as opposed to the other volcanic islands, has rich vegetation. The volcanic soil retains sufficient moisture, which makes the land very fertile, with the inhabitants of the island to exploit this fertility of the soil for millennia (millenniums).
Agricultural activities are an integral part of culture, and of history of the place and its people. The island’s economy is based, throughout the centuries, to the fertile lands, where the trees are growing up today. For example olive trees, lemon trees, agramitthies, fig trees, almond trees, oaks, vines, citrus, vegetables and fruits.
The land cultivation, the harvesting of seasonal fruits, herbs, vegetables and all sorts of fruit are activities that allow a meaningful approach of the nature. The visitor can take part in creative processes, be informed for the biodiversity of the island and learn the ways of soil cultivation, experiencing a genuine return to the traditional way of life
